Audition

Have you ever auditioned for anything in your life time? Have you ever watched an audition, perhaps on television? I'm sure we can all relate to an audition in some shape or form.

I feel like we should rephrase audition with - judgement. An audition is nothing more than a judgement of your abilities in the eyes of another person(s), yet to the person auditioning, this moment could make or break them for the rest of their lives.

With that thought in mind, I came to think that life is a continuous audition. Every day, every moment we are being judged, we even judge ourselves before we walk out the door, it's almost as if we are playing a character.

We try to fit into a different character with every scene that we find ourselves a part of, every phase of every day. How many different characters do you play in just one day in your life?

Each title you give yourself or that you are labeled by is a character. When we are faced by harsh criticism from another it alters our character, we try to change to suit that person yet in doing so we lose a little part of ourselves.

Perhaps it is time that we chose our own scripts. That we only interact with the other characters in our lives that support and inspire us. Time to look at what we can learn from these experiences.

Very often in life we give no thought to our expectations, perhaps we are happy to trundle along following someone else's script like an extra on a movie set.

How about we say no ? I am the lead in my life. I am the main character. I choose my leading man (lady), I write my own script. I decide who my extra's are on set, I chose my wardrobe and makeup.

When we look at life from a different perspective, when we stop our routine, when we decide to change just one tiny habit each day, it is incredible how everything in life can change.

Life is a gift that we must cherish. It is not guaranteed for an endless time. We must embrace every moment because the next may be taken from us. we must decide to honor ourselves.

Step out into the spotlight with nothing to fear because we are the creators of our own lives, we are the creators of our future and we are the creators of our destiny. It is time to stop hiding behind the excuses and the stories we tell ourselves.

Self love is not an act of conceit, it is an act of love for the person we are and the person we are yet to become. Our own thoughts direct us to plan the life we want. We should fall in love more with ourselves and be proud of who we are, what we stand for and all that we have achieved.
