Crying is strength

Tears. Have you ever thought about why we cry? Those beautiful crystal droplets that twinkle from our eyes. We cry when we are happy, when we are sad, when we watch our children do something for the first time, when we grieve, at weddings, at funerals and sometimes out of frustration, we cry when we are fearful and when we are proud.

It is a natural emotion yet for some reason we want to conceal it, as though it is a sign of great weakness. Why does crying have such a stigma attached to it? In my experience most people as children have been told big boys/girls don't cry. So therefore this fear begins from a lesson we learn from our parents or family members.

Crying is an emotional connection with one another. Crying is our own personal way of releasing negativity from our bodies. Why should we be ashamed of that ?

Denying how you feel does not make the emotion go away, it does not free you by brushing your pain under the carpet. When we cry we release our pain, our anxiety, our discomfort so that we can move on from it. Storing it within ourselves only builds up the pressure on ourselves.

Did you know that tears have numerous health benefits? Not only do they clear debris from our eyes which helps to protect them but they protect our eyes from infections by keeping them moist, but even more interesting than that, emotional tears contain stress hormones and other toxins that tears flush from our bodies, I'm kind of proud of my tears.

" To weep is to make less the depth of grief" William Shakespeare

There is no explanation for grief. Perhaps one of the most traumatic experiences we ever have to endure in our lifetime. No words can express the depth of this pain and we all react to it in different ways, yes no matter how we react one thing we all have in common is that our emotions flood our hearts and ooze from our eyes as beautiful tears.

Regardless of the stories you have been told as a toddler, tears are a sign of strength. It takes a strong person to show their vulnerability through tears. Don't think of what others may think or have told you in the past.

You're tears are a sign of great strength and power. Tears speak louder than any words. They are as significant as your beautiful smile when you are happy. Remember crying is an emotional expression of sadness or happiness, embrace your beautiful tears, you are strong, you are powerful, you are you're own hero , and it's ok to cry.

ITS OK TO CRY IF YOU'RE IN PAIN. REMEMBER, TEARS ARE PRAYERS TOO. THEY TRAVEL TO GOD , WHEN WE CAN'T SPEAK.- ANON
