What does home decor tell us about our personalities? Have you ever looked around your home at the accumulation of things? What do you see?

I recently acquired the help of an interior designer to help update my lounge. Time to upgrade, I had pieces of furniture that I didn't want to part with for one reason or another. As we discussed the dimensions of the room, colour schemes, wall art and accessories, I suddenly became emotional and overwhelmed, not because of her ideas or how beautiful they were but because of the eye opening moment.

That moment where I looked around the main room in my home and suddenly realized that nothing in the room represented me. There was nothing in that room that did you not know me represented me. It was simply a grouping of items put together in the one space.

On reflection and looking at my life and seeing that room from a very different perspective, I suddenly began to realize that the invisible person that I felt like was mirrored in my home. Just as I felt the need for change in my home I needed the change in my life too.
