Personal development and self growth. These two phrases pop up every where it would seem, but what exactly do they mean, and does it mean the same thing to each of us?
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Looking inward and focusing on ways to better yourself. Personal development increases your self awareness, your self esteem, increases your skills and fulfills your aspiration - www.betterup.com 10.02.2022
SELF GROWTH
When you develop new skills, positive habits, attitudes or behaviors to benefit specific areas of your life, such as in your career or personal life. - www.indeed.com 30.06.2023
Both phrases are extremely important as to how we view ourselves and how we may wish to change certain aspects in our lives to create the best version of ourselves.
Let's explore how our journal can become the tool required to document and capture ideas and emotions required to move us forward to the next level of achievement.

Awareness
Did you know that Neuroscience has proven that capturing dreams, desires and ambitions can re program our subconscious minds to help us create the life we desire and in the keeping of routines that lead to new habits.
Awareness of where we are is a great starting point. It is important to know where we are at any given moment so that we can have a clear idea of where we want our destination point to be.
Journaling all the various different aspects of our life enables us to have clarity on the areas that we would like to work on. A road map of our dreams.
We become the architect of our own life.
Journaling becomes our tool for getting our thoughts and self sabotaging doubts out of our heads and onto paper, freeing us from the downward spiral of self limitation.
MY TOP TIPS FOR PERSONAL GROWTH JOURNALING
WRITE HONESTLY - Your journal is your safe place. A place to explore your emotions, think on paper and create your future, the place you can write authentically and passionately without judgement.
Quotes, Affirmations & Prayers - use your journal to affirm your intentions. To create lists of themed quotes or to simply write your prayers for the future goals you are creating. Showing gratitude for what you have in life and what you are yet to receive.
Don't Forget - Don't forget to date each entry and add the time that you have written your post. It helps when you look back, you can see how your emotions are, at specific times of the day, sometimes this can reflect in your writing.
Self Love - Self love development is a requirement of personal development. The love we show to ourselves is important, it motivates us to progress to the person we aspire to be. think of the encouragement and support you give to someone close to you. Do you do the same for yourself ? be mindful of your self talk. Remove the negative talk and replace it with loving phrases, you are worth it.

I hope you have found some inspiration from my post. I would love to know if you journal, let me know in the comments below, do you find it difficult to be honest with yourself or do you love spending time with your thoughts?
