Midlife meltdown or stepping into the next phase of life? How do you feel about becoming the woman in the midlife bracket ? Do you feel young at heart or do you look ahead with dread in anticipation of the over the hill club?
No matter where you are on that balance the only thing that separates us is our mindset. How we view our new world, what we expect and how we look at our own future.
Some of the most inspiring individuals in our history all made their mark in life in their mid life. That is anyone over 50.
I'm led to believe that 50 is the new 40. Whatever way you look at the candles on your birthday cake , we are all living longer, healthier lives. This is not the time to be sitting in your sippers by the fire waiting for the invitation to the care home.

This is the time to reinvent ourselves. To jump out of our comfort zone and dance into the spotlight of our future. It is time to become all that we ever dreamed of, it's never too late to become all that we could have become.
If you need some inspiration to get you kick started on your own adventure try these:-
Toni Morrison - Nobel and pulitzer prize winning author, wrote her first novel at age 40, won her pulitzer prize at 56 and her nobel prize in literature at 62.
Vera Wang - Figure skater and journalist entered the fashion industry at 40.
Laverne Cox - Actress in orange is the new black at age 41 graced the cover of time magazine at 42 & 45.
Donald Fisher- was 40 with no experience of retail when he and his wife opened their first gap store.
Samuel L Jackson - landed his first award winning role at 42
Henry Ford was 45 when he created the Model T car.
Julia Child wrote her first cookbook at age 50.
Laura Ingalls Wilder published her first book at 65.
Colonel sanders was 62 when he franchised KFC.
Grandma Moses began her painting career at 78, one of her paintings sold for $1.2 million.
Harry Bernstein achieved fame at 96 for his 2007 memoir - The invisible wall.
Arianna Huffington- founded the huffington post at 55.
There are many more talented individuals to be added to this list. Wouldn't you love to see your name there one day ? How much of a legacy would that be to leave behind? How proud would you be of yourself knowing that you refused to be defined by the number of candles on your cake.
